Paul Beardmore of DTZ
Associate Director
DTZ has strengthened its residential land and consultancy team in Birmingham
with the appointment of Paul Beardmore as associate director.
Paul, who has over 20 years experience in the property industry,
will be tasked with development land acquisition and sale primarily for
the residential sector but his remit will also extend to the industrial
mixed-use and office sectors.
New Manager
Humberts in Worcester have appointed Dan Ballard to run and develop their
commercial property management team. Dan is a chartered surveyor with
nine years of management experience from his time in London and Birmingham.
New MD
DTZ has appointed Chris Balch as managing director for UK & Ireland.
He will have overall responsibility for DTZs mainstream practice
activities in the UK & Ireland and its minority interests in Northern
Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
He takes over from Jeremy Payne who, after four years in the role, has
decided to step down to focus on client service and practice and will
take responsibility for the development and management of a number of
national and regional clients. He will be based in his home city of Birmingham.
Robert Peto remains chairman of DTZs UK & Ireland business.
New Team
Donaldsons has appointed its first planning team outside of London. The
three-strong team will be based in the firms Birmingham office,
and will provide a full range of planning services.
The team will be led by Ben Hooton, who joins Donaldsons as a partner
from DTZ. Ben has over eight years planning, development and regeneration
experience.
Mark Jackson, a principal planner, also joins Donaldsons from DTZ. Mark
is a professionally qualified planning and development specialist, and
has delivered a range of retail, residential and commercial schemes.
The team will be supported by Catherine Pettipeice, who joined Donaldsons
in July 2006 as a graduate.

Andrew Parker of Savills
Director Appointed
Savills has strengthened its commercial team in Oxford with the addition
of Andrew Parker, previously a director with Parker Parr of Milton Park,
Abingdon.
Andrew will work alongside fellow Savills directors Richard Stansfield
and Nick Berrill on a broad range of agency instructions across the region.
Two Promotions
Two solicitors from Buller Jeffries Birmingham office have been
promoted. Denise Brosnan, has been promoted to partner, whilst Albert
Powell who joined Buller Jeffries in February 2004 has been made up to
associate.
Hot Property
Rock band Hot Property jazzed it up at The Jam House by raising around
£5,000 for two local charities.
The annual gig, which as started six years ago, has so far raised more
than £35,000 for good causes.
Hot Property, which is made up of property developers and professionals
from the Midlands, will be donating the money to Birmingham Childrens
Hospital and Acorns Childrens Hospice.
This year the band played their first ever unplugged set featuring the
violin impresario skills of Jas Banks (Advantage West Midlands) and the
flute of Peter Wood (Harris Lamb) in addition to the usual line up of
Andrew Yates and David Meecham (Pinsent Masons), Tim Blairs (Antringham),
Martyn Cartwright (Barberry) and Mark Wright (Alfred McAlpine).
Graduate Recruited
Graduate, Tom Gardner is the latest recruit to join Fusion Building Consultancy.
Tom follows hot on the heals of new associate director, Nick Young, who
joined Fusion after 10 years with CB Richard Ellis to spearhead its specialist
surveying, landlord and tenant department.
