Trio of Promotions

Birmingham and London law firm Martineau Johnson has responded to record levels of business and revenues by appointing three members of staff to senior associate or associate status.
Michelle O’Brien has been promoted from associate to senior associate in the commercial disputes team following eight years with the firm.
Tim Rayner and Alison Heathcote have both been promoted to associates, Tim in the property disputes team and Alison in the construction team.

Knockout Cheque

An ‘It’s a Knock-out’competition between four teams of hale and hearty types from the property world organised by Donaldsons, now part of DTZ, raised £6,000 for Meningitis Trust. A cheque was presented by Donaldsons chief executive Peter Mawson, who announced that the firm has raised over £200,000 for its charity partner to date.
Development Team
The new development team tasked with taking forward the groundbreaking PxP West Midlands Limited Partnership has been announced.
Martin Mellor becomes chief executive of PxP, the new property regeneration partnership of Advantage West Midlands and Langtree Group plc/Bank of Scotland Corporate.
Martin has worked for Langtree for 11 years, latterly as group development director.
Richard Norgrove is appointed as regional development director. After 10 years as director of a Black Country property investment and development firm. He will be applying his in-depth knowledge of the region and its commercial property sector to develop PxP’s business strategy.

Oliver Higgens is seconded from Langtree as senior development manager in charge of PxP’s property portfolio of eight major development projects.
Carly Parry will provide administrative support to PxP’s development team from its Birmingham city centre offices.
The priority remit for PxP’s new development team is to fast forward the delivery of key development projects on selected sites within the Advantage West Midlands £160m property portfolio, creating or safeguarding thousands of jobs.
Valuations
Savills’ Birmingham office has expanded its offer with the appointment of David Farrow, who will head a new valuation department at Caxton House on Fore Street.
Director
Midlands developer Westleigh Developments Ltd has appointed Matt Moore as its new property director to oversee the delivery of all its residential and commercial work.
Project Manager
Claire Ratcliffe, who has recently graduated with a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Design, Development and Regeneration from Nottingham Trent University is the first female to join the Lace Market Properties construction team and was recently appointed as assistant project manager.
Development Post
Christopher Wright has joined the development team in the Savills Nottingham office.
Associate
The property and construction team at Nottingham law firm Berryman has hired planning and environmental law specialist Tim Driver as an associate.
Hat Trick of Awards
It was hats aloft as three apprentices from William Davis Ltd celebrated their academic success at Leicester College’s annual student awards.
Martin McInnes, site engineer at William Davis, was awarded the National Federation of Builders award for Students of the Year in his Higher National Certificate Diploma.
Daniel Beck, a third year apprentice plumber at William Davis, on day release at Leicester College, has won the ‘Waterfoil Cup’, a major award for outstanding achievement in plumbing. Daniel is studying part time whilst on a four year apprenticeship with William Davis.
Jim Smithers, a quantity surveyor at William Davis, has been studying for a Higher National Certificate. He received the Pick Everard Award for determination and achievement.
