Plymouth
Plans for the regeneration of the 11.4 ha (28 acre) former MOD Mount Wise site in Devonport, Plymouth have been given consent by Plymouth City Council.
The £60m scheme of Mount Wise Ltd will see the former Royal Navy base transformed into a community with 450 homes, including 86 affordable homes and care homes, a 46-bedroomed hotel, 87,000 sq ft of commercial space and a range of community facilities.
The site contains two listed buildings; Mount Wise House which will

house 18,000 sq ft of commercial office space and Admiralty House which will be converted into a boutique hotel.
The development retains the existing cricket field, which is being used by Plymouth Cricket Club and the scheme will have 16,500 sq ft of community facilities including a gym, retail unit, pavilion community building, bistro, café and children’s play areas.
Work is hoped to be started on site in summer 2008.
Mountwise Ltd was advised by Alder King and 3W Ltd with technical input from Scott Wilson.
