End to End
Having completed the Three Peaks Challenge last year, a Bristol surveyor
from GVA Grimley is now preparing to embark on a even more physically
demanding challenge the traversal of the whole of Great Britain
from the Southwest to the Northeast otherwise known as: Lands End to John
OGroats.
Rob Belcher based at GVA Grimleys Bristol office in Clifton, is
swapping walking boots for lycra, and joining two colleagues to cycle
the 900 miles to raise money for healthcare related charities The National
Autistic Society and Alzheimers Society. The trio hope to raise in excess
of £20,000.
Hat-trick
Gloucester-based Bruton Knowles has announced a hat trick of senior promotions
following sustained business growth.
Tony Heming has been promoted to associate along with Nick Buxton, who
has also been promoted to associate.
Bruton Knowles marketing and communications manager, Chris Eldridge
has also been promoted to associate.
Surveyor
Savills has appointed Andrew Keay as a development surveyor as part of
the continuing expansion of the Bristol development department.
Merger
Nearly two years ago Bristol-based Solomon Hare joined forces with Smith
& Williamson to create one of the leading independent investment management,
financial advisory and accounting company groups in the UK. With fee income
in excess of £130m and 1,300 staff operating from ten offices it
is now ranked as the 8th largest UK firm of accountants.
The merged firm is now known simply as Smith & Williamson Solomon
Hare.

Jo Richmond of Alder King
Cambodian Project
Bristol based property manager Jo Richmond of Alder King is swapping the
temperate climes of the South West for pastures new as she embarks on a
three month sabbatical trip to help on a school and orphanage project in
Cambodia on behalf of non profit organisation Globalteer.
Cambodia Kids, located in the countrys tourist capital
of Siem Reap near the UNESCO designated World Heritage Site of the Angkor
Wat temples, aims to assist the young and vulnerable in the community to
find a way out of the poverty trap in which they find themselves. This involves
the provision of a free education programme for the local children; a day
care centre for street kids in conjunction with the Green Gecko organisation
following recent legislation to make street begging illegal; assistance
in the running of three orphanages in the town; and help in manufacturing
water filters for distribution to local villages.
Expert Recruit
An expert in public and private sector partnerships has joined the Bristol
office of King Sturge.
George Grace, who has been involved in some of the most innovative new partnership
structures in the UK, has moved from the firms office in the capital
to spearhead its work in regeneration partnerships in the South West and
Wales. |
