Bristol
The finishing touches are being put to one of Bristol's biggest office developments this week. Work on Portwall Place, a landmark 170,000 sq ft development on Portwall Lane, started in December 2005. Now developer Deeley Freed is preparing to welcome its first tenants into the five storey building, which is the first of a new type of London-style 'super office' to be built in the city. Boasting some of the biggest floor plates outside London, Portwall Place has space for up to 1,500 people, with up t 350 on each floor. It will provide firms with first class, prestigious offices on a par with the type normally only available in the

capital. More than three quarters of the space has already been pre-let and Deeley Freed are in talks with four potential tenants for the remaining floor. Law firm Beachcroft LLP has taken 90,000 sq ft on the ground, first and second floors, accountants Smith & Williamson has taken 32,000 sq ft on the top floor, sub letting 6,000 sq ft to construction and real estate consultants EC Harris, and sports injury centre the Jonathan Webb Clinic is moving into the ground floor. Smith & Williamson will be the first tenant to move in. Alder King, King Sturge and DTZ are the agents for the development.
