Chard
Tulip have sold their factory in Beechings Close, Chard through Kenningtons of Taunton. The building, originally constructed in the 1970s, was fully fitted as a working meat-cutting factory but has been sold to a local owner-occupier in a different business.
Philip Kerr commented that the huge value of fixture and fittings is very difficult to realise in the second hand market and the sale of this factory at around asking terms of £400,000 was an example of where no premium was achieved for a specialised building.
The property comprised 11,000 sq ft on about half an acre of land and was sold freehold after a one-year marketing campaign.
Gloucester
James Timms Transport Ltd has relocated into the last available building on the 24-acre St Modwen’s Quedgeley East estate, Gloucester.
James Timms Transport is renting a 62,500 sq ft distribution and storage building on a three-year lease at an annual rent of £124,000.
Ash & Co acted for St Modwen.
