Linea, Cardiff
Cardiff

Cardiff’s largest single speculative office building is to be called Linea. The announcement comes as work has begun on this inward investment scheme that will transform a 46,000 sq ft high quality warehouse into a 75,000 sq ft two-storey Grade A landmark building.
Located in St Mellons Business Park and acquired by HSBC Specialist Investment Ltd’s UK Active Property Fund, the site was previously the headquarters of owner-occupier Gilesports. Lambert Smith Hampton handled UK Active’s £3m acquisition of the site and is retained jointly with Knight Frank to market the scheme to potential occupiers.
Ceredigion
South Ceredigion is to see the construction of a new building due to the changes that have been made to the design of the hotel that is to form part of the planned development at West Wales Airport at Blaenannerch. Following the submission of a planning application in January this year that includes a 48-room hotel, discussions have been held with Ceredigion planning officials. These discussions have led to a total redesign of the originally proposed hotel building, resulting in the submission of an amended planning application.
Still retaining the same position, number of rooms, footprint and overall height, the newly designed hotel is three storeys with a flat roof. Special composite materials and curved glazing has been included to create an ultra modern building in keeping not only with the other buildings proposed for the airport but also with Parc Aberporth.
To be called the Parc Hotel and at an estimated cost of £2.5m, the design includes a bar, restaurant, conference areas and a gymnasium. All of which will be available to residents, visitors, and members of the local community alike.
