Connah’s Quay
Outline planning consent has been granted to St Modwen for the £13m redevelopment of Fford Llanarth Neighbourhood Centre, Connah’s Quay, Flintshire.
The existing centre constructed in the 1970s is to be demolished and replaced by a new development comprising a 50,000 sq ft food store which will anchor the scheme, and 20,000 sq ft of additional retail space.
The new scheme will incorporate two acres of council-owned land adjoining the site. The remainder of the site was acquired by St Modwen as part of a portfolio of properties acquired from Kwiksave which were surplus to its then operating requirements.
Cheetham and Mortimer are acting for St Modwen.

Newport
Newport’s first self-storage superstore, Storage Giant is now open for business, as the first Welsh owned business in the self storage sector in south Wales.
Storage Giant is a Newport based property development and investment company that has just opened its first landmark £10m, 70,000 sq ft self storage facility.
Storage Giant is also the first company to benefit from a brand new grant scheme launched by Newport City Council. The Leeway Estate Environmental Improvement Grant, funded by the Welsh Assembly Government but administered by Newport City Council Economic Development Section, has been put towards resurfacing of the yard and car parking areas, which were previously in a poor state of repair.
