West Midlands contracting group Shaylor is celebrating becoming one of only 40 companies in the West Midlands, and only 200 across the whole of the UK, to achieve the Investors in People (IiP) Gold Standard.
Shaylor demonstrated that it more than satisfies the 165 evidence requirements of the Framework and, as a result, is seeing the benefits of building a team that is engaged, motivated, keen to contribute ideas and committed to attaining the highest quality standards, on its bottom line.
“Our people are key to our success so we are delighted that our commitment to maximising their talents for mutual benefit has enabled us to join the group of successful Midlands businesses to attain Investors in People’s Gold Standard,” said chief executive Stephen Shaylor.
The IiP review, during which assessors interviewed 22 employees from Shaylor’s 145-strong workforce over four days, highlighted key strengths and best practices throughout the company’s four business divisions, including a strong culture of teamwork and a team spirit driven through the company’s core values.
Shaylor was commended for recognising the benefits to employees and employer of a successful work life balance, for implementing an effective communication strategy and for showing commitment to staff development through a variety of professional and personal development programmes as well as informal coaching and mentoring.
