Rich men (now this could include property developers and investment agents) are safe from gold digging harpies...that's according to results from a national survey by Ronseal, who say that British women value DIY skills above wealth or social status (apparently)...
The survey revealed that only 3% of women want a man who is rich compared to 82% who were looking for a man who is good with his hands. Money and status are apparently meaningless, being far outweighed by a chap's ability with a hammer, drill or paint brush.
And (apparently) only one in six men (17%) are looking for attractive females, compared to 69% who are also looking for a practically minded partner who knows their way around a tool box.
Unbelievable. On which planet did Ronseal undertake this survey I wonder? Certainly not the one that I live on.
Wasn't it Henry Kissinger who was quoted as saying that "Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac" (New York Times, 28 Oct, 1973). Just look at Catherine Zeta Jones who fell for Michael Douglas (25 year age gap). Rupert Murdoch and Wendy Deng (38 year gap) and Fred Astaire and Robyn Smith (45 years his junior).
Let's face it, when it comes to the mating game, men chase beauty and women want older men with money - ask any social psychologist - or woman.
The real problem is there just aren't enough rich men to go around, so the next best thing is a man who can fix things.
