Jones Lang LaSalle’s Midlands Chairman, Jan Thompson, believes the new city deals announced today, in which Whitehall gives extra power and funding to some of the country’s largest cities, including Birmingham can only be a good thing.
“Having attended a presentation to city business leaders from Sir Albert Bore only last week, it was very evident the council has good, strong and clear objectives for Birmingham. But as with all plans, the proof of the pudding is in actually seeing them come to fruition and the Council needs to employ equal clarity and the right tactics to achieve its objectives. Delivered successfully, the city deal in conjunction with the Big City Plan is extremely positive for Birmingham and very welcome in promoting economic growth.”
