New lets boost for Trowbridge town centre20th August 2012

Trowbridge town centre has received a welcome boost, with two new businesses opening at a key location.

The Wiltshire county town has seen deals signed on two central premises through landlords HPH Commercial Property at 59a and 60 Fore Street.

Minerva Publishing Ltd, a publishing company, which produces a range of lifestyle magazines for towns across the UK, has committed to a six year lease on 59a Fore Street, moving its team of staff from previous offices in Corston on the outskirts of Bath.

The move by Minerva, and the opening of a new nail bar Trowbridge Nails at 60 Fore Street, within the same property, means that all units within the building are now fully occupied for the first time in three years.

Lindsay Holdoway, Managing Director of HPH Commercial Property, which owns several office and retail units in the town said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming two new businesses into Trowbridge, which will hopefully give an extra boost to the town centre.

“Trowbridge town centre is a superb location to set up a business and Fore Street has always been a sought after location. We wish both Minerva and [nail bar] much success in their separate ventures.”

“Obviously it’s important for town centre units to be occupied and we hope that these new lets is a sign that the recovery in Trowbridge is well underway.”

David Baker, President of Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce said: “After suffering disappointing setbacks for businesses and developments in Trowbridge over the past few years, it is extremely encouraging to feel an air of optimism locally.”

Carter Jonas acted as the agent in both instances.
