Bristol property agents hit the road for charity18th September 2012

More than 300 would-be Bradley Wiggins from the Bristol property industry are taking to the roads of North Somerset this week to raise funds for charities.

The property agents, their friends and families have signed up to take part in the second Bristol Property Agents Association (BPAA) Cyclosportive on 20 September.

The non-competitive event will present four-person teams with the option of a 30 mile, 60 mile or a new 100 mile course through the North Somerset and Mendip countryside.

The event, which will start and finish at the Redwood Lodge Hotel and Country Club in Failand, will be rounded off by an evening BBQ. Funds raised will go to the Abbeyfield Supported Sheltered Housing charity for older people.

Doug Wood, president of the BPAA, said: “The success of Bradley Wiggins and his team mates during the summer has been a perfect example for all our riders, and we are expecting a bumper turnout.”

Senior director at CBRE, Phil Morton, who is organising the event, said: “The new 100 mile course option will really test some of our more adventurous cyclists and we are also introducing a King and Queen of the Mountain Challenge – an opportunity to race fellow riders on key uphill stretches of the route.”

Last year the BPAA Cyclosportive and other fundraising events raised £8,000 for the Sarcoma UK and Help for Heroes charities.
