Prospect GB has completed another major letting at Distington House in the Don Valley with 6,000 sq ft of first floor office space now occupied by public services provider Amey on a ten-year lease agreement.
Having won the contract to deliver Sheffield City Council’s £2-billion Streets Ahead Project, Amey required larger offices to accommodate additional staff and has now become the third major organisation to move into Distington House in the past four months.
Andy Milner, Managing Director of Amey’s Consulting Division, said: “It is from Distington House where all of the highways design work for the Sheffield Streets Ahead Project will take place. It’s an exciting move that signifies Amey’s growth across the Yorkshire region.”
“Although we’ve had a presence in Sheffield for the past 25 years, we’re now very much looking forward to embedding our new integrated team of skilled professionals into the new modern premises that are better suited to allow us to communicate more freely and innovate.”
A comprehensive refurbishment programme has transformed the interior of the Distington House building off Atlas Way. Prospect GB invested in contemporary aesthetics and energy-efficiency, incorporating a new reception, air conditioning, suspended ceilings, raised access floors, VDU compatible lighting and DDA-compliant design. Earlier this year NHS Direct and Gabbro Precision Ltd both agreed long-term leases to occupy new open-plan suites.
Prospect GB’s Commercial Property Manager, Robert Roddy, said: “The arrival of another high profile name like Amey, one of the UK's leading public services providers, further reinforces the status of Distington House as a prime location for all types of businesses and organisations. We are delighted that Amey has chosen our business park as its base for the Streets Ahead Project. The Don Valley location provides excellent strategic advantages, particularly its convenient access to motorways and other transport networks.”
Tim Bottrill of appointed letting agents, Knight Frank, said: “At Distington House we have been attracting excellent demand by offering flexible letting structures to meet the particular long-term business plans of each client. This has been the case for Amey as they prepare to undertake a huge long-term programme of work in Sheffield.”
