Between 20 and 30 new homes are being proposed for part of the former Bible College Wales site in Sketty, Wales, under plans put forward by Jones Lang LaSalle on behalf of landowner Global Horizons Trust.
The development on the western side of Derwen Fawr Road, will offer a range of much-needed family homes and breathe new life into the site, which has been vacant since the Bible College relocated.
Under the current plans the homes will be designed to retain the character of the local area and provide connections to the surrounding countryside with newly built and existing footpaths leading to a woodland reserve and the Clyne Valley Country Park.
Jones Lang LaSalle, acting on behalf of Global Horizons Trust, has held preliminary discussions with the City and County of Swansea Council and is now asking the local community for their views on the plans.
Kevin Hunt, Associate Director at Jones Lang LaSalle, who is leading the planning application process said: “New homes are desperately needed in the area and these plans mean the site can become a lively community once again. We hope our proposals will be seen as being in keeping with the character and feel of the area and that’s why we’re keen to hear the views of the local community, to ensure we’re getting it right.”
A public exhibition and consultation event to present the development proposals will be held at the United Reform Church, Sketty Park Road on 23 January 2013 from 2.30-7pm. Comments can also be made by email to kevin.hunt@eu.jll.com
