Calling all photographers - CBRE Bristol announces Urban Photographer competition for 20138th May 2013

CBRE Bristol has announced the launch of the 2013 CBRE Urban Photographer of the Year competition. Established in 2007, the competition is open to photographers worldwide and last year attracted over 8,000 entries from 115 countries.

This year, for the first time, CBRE has introduced a specific category for UK students. The best student entries will be eligible for all the main prizes, including a luxury safari, but also to win an iPad and various spot prizes, which will be promoted through CBRE social media pages.

The brief, Cities at Work, is designed to inspire and challenge photographers of all abilities to capture the very essence of an urban environment, be it quirky, poignant, amusing or simply stunning. Past winners have drawn inspiration from a vast spectrum of city sights, ranging from cycling commuters in Hamburg to gondoliers enjoying a well-earned break in Venice. A UK student won last year’s competition for an image of busy cobblers in Manhattan.

Phillip Morton, Head of Agency and Development at CBRE Bristol said: “The CBRE Urban Photographer of the Year competition offers a unique chance to document and celebrate urban life. Over the years we have received a consistently high standard of entries and this year we are delighted to be offering prizes for UK students, who are an enormously important part of our business. I encourage students of all subjects who are interested in photography to enter.”

Entry is free via the competition website and up to 24 photographs can be submitted. The competition closes on 31 August 2013.
