Carter Jonas makes two strategic appointments for its London office31st May 2013

Carter Jonas has appointed Ian Southall as partner, head of central government, who has joined from Deloitte Real Estate, and Matthew
Bodley, as partner, head of compulsory purchase who has joined from GVA. Both are based in Carter Jonas’ London office.

Ian is working as part of Carter Jonas’ UK wide Public Sector team to deliver property solutions through Carter Jonas’ recently awarded place as a supplier to the Government Procurement Service. His public sector experience extends to the last 18 years and has included a wide variety of consultancy based activities, including: estate strategy, options appraisals, asset management, PFI and property strategy work. In particular, Ian has helped Departments release millions of pounds of savings through prioritised rationalisation programmes.

Matthew, as one of the country’s experts in land assembly for the promotion of regeneration, transport and infrastructure schemes, is leading the UK wide compulsory purchase service to complement Carter Jonas’ experienced energy, infrastructure, marine, masterplanning and development teams. Mark Hall-Digweed, head of public sector, Carter Jonas said: “These strategic appointments are part of our overall strategy of continuing to grow our London based Commercial, Infrastructures and Planning & Development teams for the benefit of our clients."
