West Country new homes for mature buyers prove a hit11th June 2013

Blue Cedar Homes, the Exeter-based developer of bespoke age restricted housing, has taken off-plan reservations for more than half of all the new properties currently being built at two of its West Country developments.

Nine of the 15 properties – a mix of apartments and houses - at Castle Gardens in the heart of Shaftsbury, Dorset have been reserved more than two months before the sales office opens, while at Warren Gardens in the North Somerset village of Long Ashton near Bristol, six of the 12 detached houses have been reserved off-plan a month ahead of the formal opening of the development.

Managing Director of Blue Cedar Homes, Nick Hole said: “A 50 percent off-plan reservation rate is unprecedented for Blue Cedar Homes and for this to be the case at two of our developments at the same time demonstrates a real confidence in our product and a growing reputation as a company. While the South West property market is generally sluggish at present, there appears to be a genuine interest among more mature homebuyers for our unique concept of high quality, new homes in vibrant, community-focused locations.”

Castle Gardens is adjacent to Castle Hill Park in Shaftsbury, within a short, level walk of the historic town centre. Meanwhile Warren Gardens, which is exclusively for people over 65, is located in the village of Long Ashton - a thriving community with plenty of shops and community and leisure activities and just a short car or bus ride away from Bristol and Clifton.
