“We hope to have the first properties ready for occupation this side of Christmas and we’ve already had a significant amount of early interest in these new homes," said Richard Nicol, Divisional Sales Director for Summerfield.

Out of the 29 properties being built, two three-bedroom end terraced and two two-bedroom mid terraced properties will be offered at a 25% discount to local people through the MyHomes affordable housing scheme, and a further five properties will be let by Magna West Somerset Housing Association (MWS).

Christine Boland, tenant services manager for MWS, who attended the event, said: “We are once again delighted to work with Summerfield on another excellent development where we can provide more housing for local residents. Developments that offer affordable housing initiatives are so important for the housing market locally and we look forward to seeing the progress on site over the coming months.”

All of the properties on the site will be built sustainability, with double glazing and gas fired central heating to ensure energy efficiency. The front and rear gardens will be landscaped, and a 10 year NHBC warranty will be offered on all properties.
