The Office Agents Society, made up of representatives from Bristol’s leading surveying practices, has released the office take-up figures for Bristol to the end of the third quarter of 2013. The figures show a total take up of 606,368 sq ft.
In the city centre, take up stands at 427,673 sq ft, 18,000 sq ft higher than the total take up in 2012. Out of town take up stands at 178,695 sq ft, slightly lower than last year’s annual total, but with a number of deals due to complete in the final quarter it’s expected that the overall city centre and out of town take up for 2013 will finish ahead of last year’s figures of 660,598 sq ft.
James Preece, director of Colliers, said: “There is definitely more activity in the market and with three speculative developments underway, 2014 should be even stronger than 2013.”
Andy Heath, director of DTZ said: “There are also some exciting enquiries in the market, which is very encouraging and the strengthening economy is also assisting with the positive sentiment.”
