One of Plymouth's landmark commercial properties is up for rent. The iconic futuristic Ship office building is available for lease either as a whole for £5 million or on a floor by floor basis.
Designed by Sir Nicholas Grimshaw and completed in 1993, the distinctively designed property has won a number of design awards, including the Royal Institution of British Architect Award in 1994.
The landmark building is suitable for a variety of uses (subject to planning), but any occupier will be able to enjoy outstanding views across Dartmoor and Plymouth Sound, as well as good land and sea communications, which gives it potential for use as a company headquarters or production centre.
Colliers International and Vickery Holman have been appointed joint agents to market the building, which is on the Plymouth International Medical and Technology Park, five miles from Plymouth city centre.
Steve Lipfriend of Colliers International said: “You simply can’t miss the Ship if you are heading for Plymouth from the north. The unique design provides for production areas in the “stern”, which is set on rock foundations to provide extra strength.
“The offices are in the “bow”, with the distinct concave glazed walls maximising views over Dartmoor, while the boardroom and observational gallery are housed in “the tower”.
“It is one of the most distinctive office buildings in the South West bar none.
