This leadership change marks a pivotal moment for the tech giant headquartered in Cupertino, California. Tim Cook has led Apple since 2011, transforming it into one of the most valuable companies in the world with a market capitalization soaring from $350 billion to an impressive $4 trillion.

The unanimous decision by Apple’s Board of Directors to appoint Ternus reflects confidence in his vision and capabilities. Having joined Apple in 2001, Ternus has been a key player in the company’s success, notably as senior vice president of Hardware Engineering since 2021. He has played an instrumental role in launching several groundbreaking products, including the iPad and AirPods.

Under Cook’s leadership, Apple expanded dramatically. The workforce grew by more than 100,000 employees as the company opened over 500 retail stores worldwide. Revenue skyrocketed from $108 billion in fiscal year 2011 to more than $416 billion in fiscal year 2025. These figures illustrate not just growth but a profound impact on communities where Apple operates—creating jobs and fostering local economies.

Tim Cook expressed gratitude for his time at the helm: “It has been the greatest privilege of my life to be the CEO of Apple and to have been trusted to lead such an extraordinary company.” His legacy will continue as he transitions to the role of executive chairman of Apple’s board of directors.

Ternus is equally optimistic about taking on this new challenge. “I am profoundly grateful for this opportunity to carry Apple’s mission forward,” he said. His appointment signals a new era for Apple—one that many believe will build upon the solid foundation established by Cook.

Arthur Levinson, chairman of Apple’s board, praised Cook’s tenure: “Tim’s unprecedented and outstanding leadership has transformed Apple into the world’s best company.” This sentiment resonates deeply within the Apple community, where many employees and customers alike have experienced firsthand the innovations that have emerged during Cook’s time.

As Ternus prepares to take charge, there are questions about how his leadership style will shape Apple’s future. Will he maintain the same aggressive pursuit of innovation? Or will there be shifts that reflect his unique vision? Details remain unconfirmed.

What is clear is that this transition comes at a time when Apple continues to thrive with over 2.5 billion active installed devices globally. The world watches closely as John Ternus steps into this significant role, eager to see how he will navigate Apple’s path forward.

In a significant development, ministers are planning to reshape Britain’s relationship with the EU through new legislation that could enable the UK to adopt EU single market rules without a parliamentary vote.

This proposed bill will allow the UK to swiftly implement evolving single market regulations if deemed in the national interest. Such a move is facilitated by the so-called Henry VIII powers, which empower ministers to enact laws without full parliamentary scrutiny through secondary legislation.

While Parliament retains the ability to approve or reject this secondary legislation, it cannot amend it. This approach has raised concerns among opposition parties, who argue that it reduces Parliament to a spectator role in significant legislative decisions.

Critics of the government’s strategy warn that this could lead to what they describe as ‘integration with the EU by stealth.’ Prof Anand Menon remarked, “The reality of this is we are signing up to a deal with the European Union that commits us to follow their rules, whether we like it or not.”

Supporters of the bill, however, claim that it will streamline processes and cut red tape for businesses. The government is currently negotiating deals related to food and drink and emissions trading as part of this legislative effort, with an estimated £5.1 billion a year expected from the food and drink trade deal alone.

According to the Office for Budget Responsibility, Brexit is projected to reduce long-run productivity by 4% and decrease exports and imports by 15% compared to remaining in the EU. Notably, the EU remains the UK’s largest trading market, with nearly half of total trade in 2024 expected to occur with EU countries.

As the government prepares to introduce this sweeping legislation before the summer of 2026, the shadow business secretary has voiced strong opposition, stating, “Parliament reduced to a spectator while Brussels sets the terms is exactly what the country rejected.”

In the coming weeks, observers will be watching closely to see how this bill unfolds and what implications it may have for the future of UK-EU relations. The government insists that it will ensure Parliament has a role in new deals and in the application of new EU laws under those agreements.

As discussions continue, further clarification from the European Commission will be essential to ensure that the proposed measures can be implemented effectively and realistically, as highlighted by Christel Delberghe.

The mission will be spearheaded by Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Peter Kyle, who aims to foster deeper economic ties between the two nations.

This ambitious initiative comes at a time when the US-UK partnership boasts an impressive investment stock of around $1.5 trillion, supporting approximately 2.6 million jobs across both countries. The trading relationship is valued at $437 billion, highlighting the importance of collaboration in driving economic growth and innovation.

Greater Together LA will feature a two-day thought leadership summit sponsored by PwC, themed “Unexpected Connections.” This summit will showcase 30 headline voices from various sectors, emphasizing the shared values of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship that underpin the US-UK relationship. The UK Government’s GREAT Britain & Northern Ireland Campaign is organizing the expo, further underscoring the commitment to enhancing bilateral trade.

As the UK prepares for this momentous event, it also holds the responsibility of chairing the P5 Process for the upcoming 2026 NPT Review Conference, which will take place at the United Nations HQ in New York from April 27 to May 22, 2026. This dual focus on trade and international diplomacy illustrates the UK’s strategic approach to fostering global partnerships.

In a statement, Peter Kyle expressed enthusiasm for the mission, stating, “Our trade mission to Greater Together LA is championing shared values—innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship—to unlock new opportunities for both our economies to grow and thrive.” This sentiment is echoed by leaders from the airline industry, with Sean Doyle of British Airways and Robert Isom of American Airlines both expressing pride in supporting the GREAT campaign and strengthening the partnership between the two nations.

The UK Labour Party, under the leadership of Keir Starmer, has also been proactive in learning from international examples, drawing lessons from Australian leaders like Hawke and Keating to enhance its approach to trade and diplomacy. This reflects a broader commitment to evolving the UK’s role on the global stage.

As the countdown begins, with just four weeks until the NPT Review Conference, the UK is poised to leverage this trade mission to not only boost economic ties but also to reinforce its diplomatic standing. The event is seen as a vital opportunity to move the P5 from a holding pattern toward a more constructive trajectory.

Initial reactions to the Greater Together LA trade mission have been overwhelmingly positive, with stakeholders eager to explore the potential benefits of enhanced collaboration. As the UK and US continue to navigate their unique economic and cultural relationship, the outcomes of this mission could set the tone for future engagements.

In a significant legal development, The Skinny Food Co has launched a High Court claim against B&M, seeking nearly £14 million in damages. This lawsuit stems from allegations that Skinny was unjustly removed from B&M’s supplier list on two occasions, first in 2021 and again in 2025.

The legal proceedings commenced in February, with Skinny claiming total losses from both de-listings amounting to at least £16.85 million. The company asserts that the initial removal occurred after investment talks with B&M fell through, leading to a breakdown in their commercial relationship, which began in late 2020.

According to court filings, Robin Arora, a key figure at B&M, allegedly made threatening remarks during the investment negotiations. George Spalton KC, representing Skinny, stated, “B&M’s decision to de-list Skinny was motivated at least by the breakdown of the negotiations between (Mr Arora) and Skinny in respect of the proposed investment by the Arora family in Skinny, and by (Mr Arora’s) desire to make good his threat to ‘ruin’ Skinny.”

Skinny claims that its orders from B&M plummeted from £10.7 million in the year ending August 2021 to approximately £3.2 million the following year. Furthermore, B&M ceased adding new Skinny products to its shelves from 2023, and in June 2025, the company formally notified Skinny that it would remove all remaining products by December 2025.

In preparation for anticipated demand from B&M, Skinny invested over £235,000 in new machinery, a decision that now appears to have been made under false pretenses. The drastic reduction in orders has left Skinny in a precarious financial situation, prompting the current lawsuit.

As the case unfolds, B&M has yet to submit its defense, leaving many questions unanswered. The community watches closely, as the outcome could have significant implications for both companies and their future collaborations.

Robin Arora previously stated, “He was ‘the only person that can make or break your business.'” This sentiment underscores the power dynamics at play during the negotiations and the subsequent fallout.

Details remain unconfirmed, but the ramifications of this lawsuit are likely to resonate throughout the industry as both parties prepare for the next steps in this contentious legal battle.

Oracle is making headlines as it announces the elimination of thousands of jobs globally, part of a broader organizational change aimed at repositioning the company in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. This decision comes as Oracle faces significant pressure, with its stock price plummeting by 25% this year.

As of May 2025, Oracle employed approximately 162,000 people, but the recent layoffs will affect various departments including Oracle Health, Sales, Cloud, Customer Success, and NetSuite. An internal notification email stated, “After careful consideration of Oracle’s current business needs, we have made the decision to eliminate your role as part of a broader organizational change.” This marks a significant shift for a company that has been a stalwart in the tech industry.

Investors are increasingly concerned about Oracle’s core business, particularly in light of competitive risks posed by generative artificial intelligence models. The company has been leaning heavily on the debt market to fund its ambitious buildout of AI infrastructure, planning to raise $50 billion in debt and equity for these investments.

In a broader context, Oracle is not alone in making such drastic cuts. Earlier this year, Amazon announced it would cut about 16,000 corporate roles, reflecting a trend among major tech companies to streamline operations in response to market pressures.

Oracle’s strategic pivot towards AI comes as the company grapples with dwindling cash flow and mounting investor scrutiny regarding its debt levels. As the tech landscape continues to shift, observers are left wondering how these layoffs will impact Oracle’s ability to compete effectively in the AI space.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the total number of layoffs and the specific departments affected, but the implications of this decision are already being felt across the industry. The future of Oracle’s workforce and its strategic direction will be closely monitored as the company navigates these challenging waters.

After retiring from professional football in 2019, Flamini became a billionaire, with his net worth estimated at around £10 billion, according to Forbes. His journey from a footballer to a successful entrepreneur is a testament to his determination and vision.

Flamini co-founded GF Biochemicals in 2008, a company that produces a chemical recognized by the US Department of Energy as crucial for a greener future. This venture has not only solidified his financial success but also aligned with his passion for sustainability. Flamini owns more than half of GF Biochemicals, showcasing his significant stake and influence in the company.

His connection to Arsenal runs deep, having played for the club during two separate stints. Flamini has expressed a desire to return to the club, not just as a former player but potentially in a managerial capacity. “Football is the number one sport,” he stated, emphasizing his enduring love for the game and his commitment to making a positive impact within it.

Recently, Flamini has publicly expressed interest in purchasing Arsenal from the Kroenke family, who have been the sole shareholders since 2018. Stan Kroenke, the current owner, has made it clear that the family remains committed to the club, stating, “We remain 100% committed to Arsenal and are not selling any stake in the Club.” This statement underscores the challenges Flamini may face in realizing his ambitions.

Despite the obstacles, Flamini remains hopeful. He mentioned, “If there is the right opportunity at the right time and the right discussion, if I meet people who are the same vision and mindset and desire to use football for a purpose, I would love to.” This reflects his desire not only to return to football but to do so with a meaningful purpose that transcends the game itself.

Observers note that Flamini’s entrepreneurial success and deep-rooted connection to Arsenal could position him as a compelling candidate for a future role within the club. His past experiences with legendary teammates like Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp have instilled in him a strong work ethic, which he credits as a key factor in his success.

As the football world watches closely, the future remains uncertain. Flamini’s aspirations to influence the club he loves could lead to significant developments in the coming years. Details remain unconfirmed, but his passion for football and commitment to sustainability may pave the way for a new chapter in his life.

What does the passing of Leo Radvinsky mean for the future of the adult content industry? The answer is multifaceted, as Radvinsky was not just a businessman but a transformative figure in the realm of online content creation. He died from cancer at the age of 43, leaving behind a legacy that has reshaped how creators engage with their audiences.

Radvinsky was the owner of OnlyFans, a platform that surged in popularity during the COVID pandemic, allowing creators to monetize their content directly. He acquired Fenix International Limited, the parent company of OnlyFans, in 2018 and served as its director and majority shareholder. Under his leadership, OnlyFans reported a staggering $6.6 billion in annual revenue in 2024, with 4.6 million creator accounts producing content.

Born in Ukraine and raised in Chicago, Radvinsky’s journey began with running pornography sites as a teenager. He graduated from Northwestern University in 2002 with a degree in economics and went on to establish a venture capital fund called Leo in 2009. His entrepreneurial spirit and innovative approach contributed significantly to the growth of OnlyFans, which was originally founded in 2016 by Tim Stokely.

In 2024, Radvinsky received £522 million in dividends, highlighting the financial success of the platform. OnlyFans takes a 20 percent share of payments made on the site, which has proven to be a lucrative model for both the company and its creators. Radvinsky’s net worth was estimated at $3.8 billion as of May 2025, a testament to his impactful role in the industry.

Following his passing, an OnlyFans spokesperson expressed, “We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Leo Radvinsky. Leo passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer.” The spokesperson also mentioned that Radvinsky had moved his ownership to a trust in 2024, ensuring that his vision for the platform would continue beyond his lifetime.

The community is now left to ponder what comes next for OnlyFans and its creators. Radvinsky’s innovative approach has set a high bar, and many wonder how the platform will evolve without his leadership. As the adult content industry continues to grow and change, Radvinsky’s contributions will undoubtedly influence its trajectory.

As we reflect on Radvinsky’s life and achievements, it is essential to recognize the impact he had on countless creators who found a voice and a livelihood through OnlyFans. His legacy will be felt for years to come, as both a pioneer and a community supporter in the ever-evolving landscape of digital content creation.

The latest episode of Dragons’ Den featured a diverse lineup of entrepreneurs pitching their innovative products, with several seeking significant investments to expand their businesses. Among them, Rachel Williams presented her skincare brand, Albus & Flora, which has garnered attention for its SPF 30 lip balm priced at £18.

Another notable pitch came from Fred Parry, who introduced Chicken Rush, a GPS-powered hide-and-seek game that launched in 2022. Parry reported a turnover of £55,000 in its first year and projected a remarkable £164,000 in its second year, driven by the potential revenue from 100 games played daily.

Unique Products and Offers

In addition to Albus & Flora and Chicken Rush, the episode showcased other innovative products, including the Screw Caddy, a screw holder invented by John and Jamie O’Donnell, priced at £3.99. Laura Murphy also pitched Oatco Superfuel, which offers oat-based energy balls and overnight oat pouches, seeking £50,000 for a 5% equity stake in her business.

During the pitches, the Dragons provided candid feedback. Jenna Meek remarked, “I’d love to help you, but I’m out,” highlighting the competitive nature of securing investment. Deborah Meaden, while expressing interest, stated, “It’s your business, and I don’t want to be the majority shareholder,” indicating the importance of maintaining control over one’s venture.

Financial Insights and Market Potential

Albus & Flora’s treatment mask, priced at £30, adds to the brand’s appeal in the skincare market, which continues to thrive amidst growing consumer interest in personal care products. Meanwhile, Chicken Rush’s innovative concept has captured the imagination of both children and parents, leveraging technology to enhance playtime.

Laura Murphy’s bold statement, “My product has balls,” aimed to emphasize the uniqueness of Oatco Superfuel’s offerings, which cater to health-conscious consumers seeking convenient snack options. The variety of products presented reflects a broader trend in the market towards innovation and sustainability.

Looking Ahead

The latest series of Dragons’ Den has reached its halfway point, with viewers eager to see how these entrepreneurs will fare in securing the investments they seek. As the competition continues, the potential for these startups to grow and thrive in their respective markets remains a topic of interest among observers. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the outcomes of the pitches, leaving audiences anticipating the next developments in these budding businesses.

Before the recent One Day International (ODI) match between Bangladesh and Pakistan, expectations were high for both teams. Bangladesh, led by captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, opted to bowl first, a decision that set the stage for a competitive game. The anticipation surrounding the match was not just about the teams but also about the players, particularly the debutants from Pakistan.

Decisive Changes in the Match

In a notable shift, Pakistan included four debutants in the match: Sahibzada Farhan, Maaz Sadaqat, Shamyl Hussain, and Abdul Samad. This marked a significant moment as it was the first time since 2008 that Pakistan had handed out four ODI debuts in a single game. The inclusion of these new players was a bold move, reflecting Pakistan’s strategy to inject fresh talent into their lineup.

Immediate Effects on the Teams

The immediate effects of this decision were palpable. The debutants brought a mix of excitement and uncertainty to the field. For Abdul Samad, this match represented a crucial opportunity to establish himself in international cricket. The performance of these debutants would not only influence the outcome of the match but also shape their future in the sport.

Expert Perspectives on the Shift

Experts have noted that the decision to debut multiple players simultaneously can be a double-edged sword. While it allows for the introduction of new talent, it also places immense pressure on the individuals to perform. The success of Abdul Samad and his fellow debutants could redefine their careers, but failure might lead to a longer road back to the national team.

Abdul Samad’s Business Success

In a contrasting realm, Abdul Samad Rabiu, a prominent businessman, has made headlines with his remarkable financial growth. As of 2026, he is recognized as Nigeria’s second richest man and the third richest billionaire in Africa, with an estimated fortune of $11.2 billion. This represents a staggering 120 percent increase in just one year, largely attributed to the performance of BUA Cement, whose shares climbed by 135 percent.

Philanthropic Endeavors

Beyond his business acumen, Rabiu has emerged as a significant philanthropist through the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative. This initiative focuses on funding healthcare and education projects across Africa, showcasing his commitment to giving back to the community. His rise in wealth and influence in both business and philanthropy stands in stark contrast to the uncertainties faced by new athletes like Abdul Samad in cricket.

Contrasting Paths

The juxtaposition of Abdul Samad’s debut in cricket against the backdrop of Rabiu’s business success highlights the diverse paths individuals can take. While one is stepping onto the international stage with hopes of a bright future, the other has already established a legacy of wealth and philanthropy. This contrast underscores the varying definitions of success and the different challenges faced in sports and business.

David Storch has been named as the new preferred bidder to take over Sheffield Wednesday, a significant development for the club currently in administration. This decision comes after the Storch family successfully fended off interest from former Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley, securing an agreement with Begbies Traynor.

Storch, who previously served as the chief executive of AAR Corp until his retirement in 2018, has a notable background in business. Under his leadership, AAR Corp faced scrutiny, culminating in a £41 million settlement with the Department of Justice and the Securities Exchange Commission. This history raises questions about the implications of the Storch bid, particularly regarding the $55 million (£41 million) settlement that the family will need to address.

The Storch family is reportedly worth over £1 billion, and David Storch is also the founder and managing partner of Arise Capital Partners. Their bid has been described as the strongest proposal received following a renewed bidding process initiated last week.

Sheffield Wednesday has been in administration since October, following financial mismanagement under the previous ownership of Dejphon Chansiri. The club has faced challenges, including a 15-point deduction at the start of the season, which has compounded their difficulties on the field.

Keir Gordon, a spokesperson, noted that “Mr. Storch was chairman of AAR Corp when the company self-reported a potential wrongdoing by a rogue employee in 2019.” He added that the company cooperated with authorities and successfully resolved the matter in 2024, indicating a commitment to transparency.

As the preferred bidder, Storch’s proposal will undergo scrutiny as the club seeks to stabilize its financial situation and plan for the future. The offer from Arise Capital Partners represents a critical juncture for Sheffield Wednesday, as they look to rebuild and regain their footing in the competitive landscape of football.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the next steps in the takeover process and how it will affect the club’s operations moving forward. Stakeholders and fans alike will be watching closely to see how this potential transition unfolds.
