Severe delays have been reported on the northern line, primarily due to planned maintenance and technical issues. The Bank branch of the line has been experiencing early closures from Camden Town to Kennington since January 12, 2026, as part of essential track replacement work.

Signal Failure and Impact

On the morning of March 12, 2026, a signal failure at East Finchley further exacerbated the situation, leading to significant disruptions. Delays were noted between High Barnet and Battersea Power Station, as well as between Mill Hill East and Kennington via Charing Cross.
