Goadsby Hotels & Leisure Division have sold The Anchor Inn at Shapwick to the Magrath family who currently operate the Dudsbury pub and restaurant at West Parley.
The Anchor can be found on the southern side of Cranborne Chase in a beautiful village location close to Wimborne. The Head Chef is experienced caterer Richard Magrath who has worked in restaurants throughout Europe. His intention is to provide fine food prepared with locally sourced ingredients, served in a warm, friendly environment.
Richard Magrath said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to provide food and hospitality in such a wonderful village freehouse. We look forward to welcoming both new and existing customers to the Anchor.”
Mark Nurse from Goadsby said, “Acting on behalf of the freeholders of the Anchor, we achieved a good level of interest in the premises. The Anchor is a recently refurbished freehouse pub, which was saved from closure some years ago when the villagers joined together to purchase the property. The new owners are very experienced operators whose high standards and enthusiasm will no doubt ensure that the Anchor remains an exceptional public house.”
