Innes England secures Scaffolding Group Derby deal8th May 2012

DERBY is the latest stop for East Midlands building supplier Scaffolding Group as it continues to expand its business, thanks to a deal secured by Innes England.

The Midlands property agent acted on behalf of its client, Grafton Group UK, to let the former Buildbase unit on Great Northern Road in Derby. The 1,300 sq ft of office and showroom space, and 4,410 sq ft of warehouse area, which sits on a site of around a third of an acre, was ideally placed for an expanding business.

Scaffolding Group already has offices across the region in Chesterfield, Sutton and Buxton. Moving to Derby will help the firm reach a wider customer base and deliver its latest contract with social housing provider, Derby Homes.

Stafford Rowland, director of Scaffolding Group, said: “We already have offices in other parts of the region and winning a big contract like the one with Derby Homes meant it was important to have a base locally.

“The construction industry is struggling at the minute, so we are cautiously optimistic about our expansion. We’re delighted to have been able to find somewhere in Derby with the facilities we need as we gradually build the business.”

Innes England surveyor Paul Simmons who was responsible for the deal said: “The site on Great Northern Road proved to be ideal for Scaffolding Group. There’s plenty of room for their fleet of vehicles and the office space is ample for their needs."
