One of Lincoln’s largest employers, HomeLet, has agreed a deal with Westleigh Commercial to relocate to brand new, bigger premises at the Edge West Office Park.
The tenant referencing and specialist insurance company for the lettings industry, which currently employs over 300 people at its existing office on Green Lane, is pleased to remain in Lincoln after agreeing a move to the nearby 54,000 sq ft scheme on Ruston Way, located just a few minutes walk from the city centre.
Work has now begun on a new £3m, 25,000 sq ft building, which is expected to take another six months to complete.
Ian Fraser, Managing Director of HomeLet, said: “Our new building will be the new home of the business and all its employees. This is a very exciting time for everyone at HomeLet, and our people are looking forward to working in a brand new, state of the art office.
Matt Moore, Property Director at Leicester-based Westleigh said: “We are delighted to have agreed this deal with HomeLet to build their new bespoke head office here at the Edge West development. The site meets the needs of companies who require a central location with on-site parking and very close access to both the city centre and transportation links. For these reasons we believe it will prove as popular as our other successful commercial projects throughout the East Midlands.”
Stephen Bradford, of marketing agents Hodgson Elkington LLP, says, “This is an important development as it suits businesses who wish to relocate, but would rather keep its links with the city centre than move to an out-of-town development. This is a product which up until now has been lacking in the Lincoln market. The fact that Westleigh is willing to be flexible on the size, layout and tenure of individual units combined with its green methods of construction makes Edge West a very attractive proposal.”
