Andrew and Ashwell let Wigston development site to Travis Perkins14th July 2012

Work is underway on a prominent development site off Chartwell Drive, Wigston, let by Leicester commercial property specialist Andrew and Ashwell.

Builders’ merchant Travis Perkins, which is expanding its branches across Leicestershire, is set to be the new occupier, with a 10,000 sq ft warehouse and office building currently under construction.

Located on the corner of West Avenue and Chartwell Drive, the land is designated for employment, providing substantial scope for development. The site is in a long-established industrial location four miles south of Leicester, with easy access to the outer distributor road (A563) linking to the M1/M69 motorways.

The overall plot is approximately 1.25 acres and is mainly rectangular in shape. The location, configuration and flexibility of the site, which has access points off both West Avenue and Chartwell Drive, make it readily adaptable for Travis Perkins requirements.

Adam Cookson, Senior Property Acquisitions Manager at Travis Perkins said: “We are delighted to have secured this fantastic opportunity in Wigston, which was a long-standing target town in our expansion plans and are looking forward to getting the new branch up and running.”

Mike Allwood, Director at Andrew and Ashwell said: “The development land at Chartwell Drive is in an ideal location for business expansion, close to industry contacts and vital road links."
