Morlands Enterprise Park delivers growth to Glastonbury7th February 2013

As the new Howdens trade counter comes out of the ground, Cubex Land’s Morlands Enterprise Park is delivering on its promise to stimulate growth in Glastonbury.

Howdens, which operates a chain of 520 specialist joinery trade depots across the UK, has chosen Morlands Enterprise Park as the site for its newest counter, set to become a strategic location to service customers in the south west.

Construction of the 8,000 sq ft unit and car park is being project managed by independent property adviser GVA, which is also acting as cost consultant on behalf of Cubex. The steel framed unit will have brick and metal sheet cladding and is due for completion in March 2013, when Howdens will fit out the shell to their specific requirements.

James Stanger, Director at Bristol based GVA, said “The Howdens unit follows closely on the heels of the new 60 bedroom Premier Inn and Brewers Fayre scheme for Whitbread, which is planned to open this Spring.

“Activity is now very visible across the site, which is leading to a surge of interest from local companies and those looking to establish a presence in Glastonbury to serve the wider region. With planning permission secured by GVA on a further terrace of three units, each of 2,260 sq ft, that leaves just three acres of serviced land for development.”

Howdens has signed a 15 year lease with Cubex Land for the new unit. Paul Hobbs, Director at GVA secured the deal on behalf of Cubex Land.

“Morlands Enterprise Park has presented a huge opportunity for businesses to be a part of the action on the town’s principal employment park. New units can be made available for sale or lease on a design and build basis.

“The park is delivering on its promise to secure investment into Glastonbury.”

Cubex Land purchased the 20 acre site from the South West RDA, and has now completed all infrastructure works to make the site ready for further commercial development.
