Henry Davidson Developments sells 2nd phase of Bannerbrook scheme, Coventry to Marston's Inns & Taverns15th February 2013

Henry Davidson Developments, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Development Securities Plc, has today announced the sale of the second phase of its Bannerbrook Local Centre scheme in Coventry to Marston’s Inns & Taverns. The sale price has not been disclosed.

The freehold development plot will be used by Marston’s Inns and Taverns for a two-storey, 7,600 sq ft pub restaurant. Construction work is due to start on site at the end of January with completion scheduled for July 2013.

The pub-restaurant will offer seating for around 150 diners, plus a children’s play area, outdoor seating and parking spaces for its customers. It will feature Marston’s popular two-for-one price offer on main meals, a range of quality ales, wines and soft drinks, plus a family-friendly environment. Its opening is likely to create up to 45 new jobs in the area.

Bannerbrook Local Centre comprises eight retail units, including a Spar, a pharmacy, an independent pet shop, a fish & chip shop, and a restaurant, delivered as part of the first phase of development in 2010. The Centre serves the nearby 1,100 home Bannerbrook Park.

Today’s deal leaves a single freehold development plot available for purchase through Shortland, Penn + Moore. This final plot has outline planning consent for doctor’s surgery and children’s nursery uses (although the site is also suitable for other uses). The plot is 0.258 acres and benefits from access to car parking within the Centre.
