BNP Paribas Real Estate has relet the former Jessops store at 49 Above Bar Street, Southampton to Holland & Barrett, on behalf of a London based property company client.
The prominent high street retail store was let on a new ten year full repairing and insuring lease, at a rental of £125,000 pa, reflecting a zone A rental in excess of £200 per sq ft.
BNP Paribas Real Estate’s Andrew Shepherd said: “On behalf of our client, we quickly secured a solid national multiple retailer for this prime property, following the demise of Jessops. Two additional offers were received for the property, which goes some way to dispelling the myth that there is no future for high street retailing and strongly indicates that for prime shops in major towns, a good level of demand still exists.”
