The Birmingham office of real estate company Cushman & Wakefield has promoted eight of its key staff just as the company celebrates five years in the city.
Having started with only four staff, Cushman & Wakefield now employs 82 staff in Birmingham - despite the backdrop of the global downturn - including the eight who have been promoted.
They are Mike Newman, who works in the firm’s accounts department and has been promoted to associate, and Jennifer Longden, who joined the building consultancy team four years ago. Jennifer has also been promoted to associate.
Three other promotions are from the office’s agency teams – they are Marcus Hayes, who has been promoted to associate in the offices team, and Colin Lawrence-Waterhouse, who is now also an associate, industrial. Both Marcus and Colin joined Cushman & Wakefield shortly after the opening of the Birmingham office. Ed Purcell becomes a senior surveyor in the retail team.
Other promotions are Kristiani Pili and James Drew, both of whom become senior surveyors in the property management team. Also promoted is management team support staffer Kavita Modha, who becomes a surveyor.
Scott Rutherford, who heads the offices team at Cushman & Wakefield in Birmingham, said the promotions were recognition of the strength of the team at the firm.
“It is very pleasing that eight people who all started in the Birmingham office of Cushman & Wakefield since we opened have all been promoted,” he said.
“This shows the progress of both the office and their individual careers over the period since we opened.”
