Work has begun on one of the largest office developments to be undertaken in the past year in Peterborough by property developers Sladen Estates and Peveril Securities.
The three storey, 40,000sq ft office block, which is expected to be completed by August 2014, is for new tenant Access Prepaid Worldwide, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mastercard
Access Prepaid has entered into an agreement with Sladen and Peveril to lease the new office block as the site for its new office.
The new offices are within Cygnet Park, where already some the UK’s leading brands are based including IKEA, Debenhams, Volvo, Kelway and News International.
The Grade A building is to be built to BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standard and will enable Access Prepaid to adopt more efficient methods of working, make operational cost savings and is designed to provide an attractive and accessible environment for its staff.
Sladen Estates, from South Normanton, has already worked on several developments in Hampton with long term development partner Peveril Securities Ltd, including Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito and other high profile business and retail establishments. It has also recently completed a health and fitness centre for Townfast, which is operated by Vivacity on behalf of Peterborough City Council.”
Chief executive Nick Sladen said: “This development is an important deal for Peterborough and is another significant deal for ourselves and Peveril.
“The location is a very popular one with big businesses, as it has excellent road and rail links and a good local workforce.
“Access Prepaid has been in Peterborough for ten years and through its property advisors Jones Lang LaSalle in Nottingham, we are delighted they chose our Cygnet Park site for their new office location.”
Steve Grigg, President at Access Prepaid added: “It is with some sadness that we leave behind our roots of the past 10 years, but it is time to spread our wings and create a new office identity and culture. We are all tremulously excited to move to our new purpose built, state of the art premises and feel the vibrant area of Cygnet Park is a perfect location for Access Prepaid to grow.”
It took Peterborough City Council just five weeks to grant planning consent and Bowmer and Kirkland have already begun construction. Engineering work is being undertaken by BWB.
