Amber davies pulls out of Legally Blonde The Musical due to illness

Amber Davies withdraws from performances

Amber Davies has pulled out of upcoming Legally Blonde The Musical shows due to a lingering illness. The 29-year-old actress, who plays the iconic role of Elle Woods, has been struggling with her health for the past month and has been on antibiotics in an effort to recover.

In a statement, Davies expressed her frustration, saying, “Ok update: After talking to my doctor, being on antibiotics and trying to recover whilst doing shows is getting me and my health NOWHERE.” She further noted, “Been working on this lingering illness for a month now so I’ll be off again from my beautiful Elle Woods.”

Davies, who has garnered a significant following with 1.3 million followers on Instagram, has previously starred in The Great Gatsby and won a WhatsOnStage award for her performance. She also gained fame as a finalist on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

As Davies steps back, her role will be taken over by understudy Hannah Lowther, who also boasts a substantial social media presence with 1.3 million followers on TikTok. Lowther’s performance will ensure that the show continues without interruption.

Davies has admitted to suffering from burnout, stating, “I fear if I keep ‘pushing through’ I will be battling with this for longer than I need to be.” This acknowledgment highlights the pressures faced by performers in the demanding world of musical theatre.

The Legally Blonde tour is set to conclude in January 2027, and while Davies’ absence is a setback, it is hoped that she will make a full recovery in time for future performances.

Amber Davies has been a prominent figure in the entertainment industry since winning the third series of ITV show Love Island in 2017. Her journey from reality TV star to musical theatre actress has been closely followed by fans.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact duration of her absence from the show, but observers are hopeful for her swift recovery and return to the stage.
