Istanbul’s Marmaray service has expanded to operate late-night services every day of the week, starting this Sunday. The new schedule aims to improve passenger mobility across the city.
The late-night services will include departures at 11:20 p.m. from Gebze to Halkalı and at 11:28 p.m. from Halkalı back to Gebze. This adjustment is a direct response to increasing passenger demand, ensuring that residents have more options for late travel.
Istanbul’s public transportation network is evolving to accommodate the needs of its growing population. The introduction of daily late-night Marmaray services marks a significant enhancement in urban mobility.
Meanwhile, maritime traffic in the Istanbul Strait resumed after a brief suspension due to a mechanical failure on the dry cargo vessel Zaltron. This 185-meter ship experienced an engine malfunction off Kurucesme but was safely anchored at the Ahirkapi Anchorage Area.
John Stones, a key player for Manchester City, recently reflected on his football career and his time with Everton. He made 95 appearances for Everton and scored his only goal against Manchester United. Stones noted, “I remember my dad saying there was training with a local team on a Wednesday night so I started to go there and still enjoyed it; made some new friends and I just loved to play football from there on.” His enjoyment was evident even as he faced challenges last season.
As Istanbul continues to expand its public transport offerings, observers will be keenly watching how these changes affect overall mobility in the city, especially as it prepares for upcoming events like the UEFA Champions League final in 2026.
