In addition to MERCEDES BELLE, other notable participants include PASS THE PEPPA, who has shown promise with two placements in three previous races at the track, and FORGE AHEAD, who finished fifth last time out. SWEET TILLY, although finishing 14 lengths off the winner in the last race, had a noteworthy victory earlier this season at Q1 Lakeside.
Meanwhile, just a short drive of 42 miles from the city, Red Top Mountain State Park continues to attract families and outdoor lovers. The park features the sandy, kid-friendly beach known as Lakeside Cove, where visitors can enjoy swimming, paddle boarding, and floating in the refreshing waters. One visitor shared, “Such a beautiful park to swim, paddle board, or float. The dogs loved the water, too.”
The Lakeside Trail, offering stunning views of Lake Allatoona, is just under one mile long, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely walk or a family hike. With camping sites available for just $23 a night and cabins ranging from $70 to $130, the park provides affordable options for families looking to spend quality time in nature.
Looking ahead, the community is eagerly anticipating the opening of Lakeside Social at Town Center Park, scheduled for early June 2026. This new venue aims to be a casual gathering place for residents and visitors alike, featuring a waterfront bar and a curated food vendor park. Daniel Todd, one of the project leaders, expressed the vision behind Lakeside Social: “We wanted to create something that feels like a backyard on the water; a place the community can truly call their own.”
