The farewell came just a day after Guardiola’s final match, where he managed City against Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium. The celebrations included a bus parade through Manchester, showcasing the club’s achievements, including their domestic cup double and triumphs in the Women’s Super League and FA Youth Cup.

Tributes from Stars

The event featured tributes from various celebrities, including basketball legend Michael Jordan, who sent a video message congratulating Guardiola on his career. Jordan, a known fan of the manager, wished him well in retirement, saying, “Enjoy your retirement. Good luck on the links and keep them straight. Congratulations.”

Other notable figures, such as golfer Tommy Fleetwood and veteran manager Neil Warnock, also expressed their admiration for Guardiola. Fleetwood remarked on the honour of calling Guardiola a friend, while Warnock declared him the best manager he had ever seen.
