Betway Partners with Formula 1 as First Official Betting Operator

Betway Partners with Formula 1

In a significant development for both sports and betting, Betway has officially partnered with Formula 1, becoming the first official betting operator in the sport’s history. This multi-year agreement was announced on March 5, 2026, and will commence at the start of the 2026 season, which kicks off with the Australian Grand Prix on March 8.

The partnership allows fans to place in-play bets on various driver and team strategies during races, enhancing the engagement of fans with live events. This innovative approach is expected to revolutionize how fans interact with Formula 1, as noted by Jonny Haworth, who stated, “Sports betting is now a natural extension of how many modern fans engage with live events.”

The deal spans multiple regions including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Canada, and Mexico, marking a significant expansion for Betway in the global betting market. Additionally, ALT Sports Data will serve as the official betting data supplier for Formula 1, ensuring that the betting offerings are based on real-time and regulated data.

Neal Menashe, CEO of Super Group, which owns Betway, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to sign our Betway sportsbook brand to the first deal of its kind in Formula 1.” He further emphasized that this collaboration reinforces their commitment to high-level sports and will provide customers access to innovative markets during race weekends.

The 2026 season will feature a total of 24 races, providing ample opportunities for fans to engage with the new betting offerings. Following the announcement, shares of Super Group Ltd saw a 4.90% increase, closing at $11.57, indicating positive market reception to the news.

This partnership not only marks a historic moment for Formula 1 but also sets a precedent in the sports betting industry. As Jonny Haworth remarked, “While betting and sport have long gone hand in hand, this new product offering takes Formula 1 into a new cutting-edge dimension that offers even more engagement and excitement for fans.”

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the specific betting markets that will be available, but the anticipation surrounding this partnership is palpable as the 2026 season approaches.
