Max verstappen 24h nurburgring

It is rare for an F1 driver of Verstappen’s calibre to participate in lower-level motorsport events. However, the upcoming Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance race presents a unique opportunity for him.

Breaking Development

Max Verstappen is confirmed to compete in the Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance race, which will take place on May 16-17, 2024. He will be driving a Mercedes AMG GT3 car and will race under the Red Bull livery.

Verstappen has expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “The Nurburgring Nordschleife is a special place. There’s no other track like it. The 24-hours of Nurburgring is a race that’s been on my bucket list for a long time, so I’m really thrilled we can make it happen now.”

He will share driving duties with notable drivers Daniel Juncadella, Jules Gounon, and Lucas Auer. Verstappen emphasized the strength of their line-up, saying, “We’ve got a strong line-up with Dani, Jules and Lucas and great support from Red Bull and Mercedes-AMG Motorsport.”

Verstappen’s previous experience at the Nurburgring includes driving around the Nordschleife to gain his GT3 licence, and he won a round of the Nurburgring Endurance Series (NLS) last year.

Looking Ahead

As the event approaches, observers note that Verstappen’s participation could bring significant attention to the race, given his status in Formula 1. His preparation for the event is seen as valuable, as he mentioned, “That preparation is very valuable, as we have learned a lot that we can take into our programme this year with NLS2 and the 24-hour race.”

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the specific strategies and team dynamics that will unfold during the race, but Verstappen’s involvement is expected to enhance the competitive landscape of the event.
