Manchester to host Tommy Fury against Eddie Hall in exhibition bout

Heavyweight Exhibition in Manchester

Tommy Fury, a reality television personality and professional boxer, is set to face former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall in an exhibition heavyweight contest. The event, promoted by Misfits, is scheduled to take place at the AO Arena in Manchester. This bout will not count towards either fighter’s professional boxing record.

The contest is planned for six two-minute rounds, bringing together two British figures from different backgrounds. This event is part of a growing trend in boxing that combines professional sport, entertainment, and social media celebrity.

Fighters’ Backgrounds and the Undercard

Tommy Fury has previously secured victories against influencers-turned-boxers KSI and Jake Paul. Despite these high-profile wins, he maintains aspirations for world titles, though he has become a prominent figure in influencer boxing.

Eddie Hall, who previously headlined ‘The Heaviest Boxing Match in History’ in 2022 against Hafthor ‘Thor’ Bjornsson, transitioned to MMA after that exhibition loss. He achieved a knockout victory last year against former strongman Mariusz Pudzianowski.

The undercard for the event features a diverse lineup, including social media personality ‘The Ibiza Final Boss’, whose real name is Jack Kay. Kay gained internet recognition in 2025 for his confident dancing and distinctive persona. Also on the card is two-time Olympic taekwondo gold medallist Jade Jones.

Family Feud and Weight Disparity

The origins of this matchup stem from a family dispute. Tensions arose when John Fury, father of Tommy, reacted to comments Hall made about wanting to fight Tyson Fury. Hall accused John Fury of bullying, leading Tommy Fury to step in to address the disagreement.

While there is no upper weight limit in the heavyweight division, Fury is expected to be significantly lighter than Hall. Fury has typically competed around cruiserweight, weighing 14st 4lb (94kg) for his most recent fight. Hall, during his strongest-man peak, weighed over 28st 8lb (181 kg).

Hall is anticipated to weigh approximately 5st less than his strongest-man peak at Friday’s weigh-in, which could still result in a weight difference of up to 7st between the two fighters when they enter the ring.

The Appeal of Influencer Boxing

Influencer boxing has become a notable development in combat sports over the last decade. Some observers appreciate the increased audience engagement and attention it brings to boxing, while others believe it detracts from the sport’s traditional aspects.

Adding to the event’s theatrical elements, former UFC fighter Darren Till has claimed he has been prevented from attending the contest and has suggested he might attempt to enter the arena disguised. Till and Fury have a history, as a proposed bout between them in 2024 did not materialise after Fury withdrew when Till suggested using MMA tactics.

There is also speculation that Fury, who gained fame on the reality dating show Love Island, might announce his new daughter’s name on the night of the fight. Despite questions regarding its impact on traditional boxing, thousands are expected to attend the event in Manchester, highlighting the continued draw of influencer boxing.

The fight is scheduled to take place at 10pm BST tonight in Manchester, England, and can be watched live on DAZN as a pay-per-view event.
