As of February 25, 2026, it is now mandatory for non-visa nationals to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before entering the UK. This new rule affects visitors from 85 countries, including the United States, Canada, and France. Airlines will prevent passengers from boarding if they do not possess an ETA, eVisa, or other valid documentation. The ETA costs £16 and is valid for multiple journeys over a two-year period or until the holder’s passport expires.
