Leslie Odom Jr. to Return as Aaron Burr
“Returning to Hamilton and revisiting the role of Aaron Burr with the growth and perspective of time has been a profoundly healing artistic experience,” said Leslie Odom Jr. in a recent statement regarding his upcoming engagement in the West End.
Odom will reprise his acclaimed role as Aaron Burr for a nine-week season at the Victoria Palace Theatre, beginning on July 3, 2026, and running until September 5, 2026. He previously won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for this role, which he originally portrayed in the Broadway production.
The current cast of Hamilton features Alex Sawyer as Alexander Hamilton and Jay Perry as Aaron Burr, but Odom’s return is highly anticipated. The role of Alexander Hamilton will also be played by Adam J Bernard at certain performances during Odom’s engagement.
Hamilton, which opened in London in 2017, has garnered significant acclaim, winning seven Olivier awards. The musical, created by Lin-Manuel Miranda, tells the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton, detailing his involvement in the American Revolution and his personal life.
Odom’s previous performances in Hamilton include a year-long run in the original Broadway production and a 12-week stint in 2025. His return to the West End marks a significant moment for both the actor and the production.
Cameron Mackintosh expressed his excitement about Odom’s return, stating, “I’m absolutely thrilled that London will now be able to share the experience of Leslie for a short season.” Mackintosh, along with producer Jeffrey Seller, played a crucial role in facilitating Odom’s West End debut.
